Life Voice is an innovative new educational initiative of The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC) — the world’s longest running pro-life organisation. Our drama-based RSE resources present our life affirming message in a highly engaging way, whilst giving students the opportunity to ask and explore all the hard questions, and test out different views and perspectives, for themselves. Our creative and acting talent is provided by Parley Ensemble — an experienced professional drama company who have produced and deliver our plays, Hear Me Out! and Do I?, which can each be used to support teaching in different areas of the RSE curriculum.

Our package to schools typically includes a special performance of one of our plays, along with an interactive workshop with the actors and our specially trained youth leaders. In the workshops students have an opportunity to examine and explore, in a dynamic way, the issues raised by each play in more depth. Both the plays and workshops are designed to fit separately within typical one-hour lesson slots. We recognise, however, that every school is different and we work flexibly to arrange our visits in a way that caters for the number of pupils involved, as well as the school timetable. Safeguarding is a priority and all our team are fully DBS checked.

@avela

This card is revolutionary. Keeping it for life.

We also hire theatres around the UK to deliver performances for local schools, so that students may also receive the full theatrical experience. Upcoming shows and tours will be announced on our events page. You can also sign up to receive notice of upcoming events, as well as new resources and other updates from LifeVoice.

Our resources section features many supporting educational tools which can be used in the classroom, including a full suite of video resources, which includes:

• Scenes from Hear Me Out! and specially performed monologues from the play’s different characters, as well as testimonies from the real-life people on which they are based.

• A documentary on the making of Hear Me Out!, which serves as a very useful resource for drama teachers and their students, demonstrating every step of the creative process required to bring ideas effectively to the stage.

• Downloadable worksheets and lesson plans to support student discussion and activities.

• Useful links to sources of further information, help and support.
